Cephas Rock Limited, Structural Consultant Engineers, was founded in 2010 by Joshua Wong, a chartered professional engineer with more than twelve years professional experience gained in Asia and New Zealand. His particular expertise is in structural design, seismic and soil issues.
Based in Christchurch, we have clients throughout Canterbury and further afield. Our clients include home owners, home buyers, commercial building owners and developers, real estate agents, architects and draughtspeople.
Joshua Wong

Position: Director/Structural Engineer (Chartered Professional Engineer)
Joshua Wong is the founder of Cephas Rock Limited. He has worked in the engineering industry since 2001. Apart from structural engineering, while he worked overseas, he has had experience in sewage treatment and industrial waste water treatment.
Joshua was very fortunate to have part of his apprenticeship under the “legendary structural engineer” Arthur Tyndall during the early part of his career. Through that, he built up a vast amount of experience in complex engineering problem solving.
He enjoys spending time with his family and for that reason he decided to set up the office at home, even whilst the company has grown in staffing.
Joshua is in charge of the operation of the whole company. Apart from that, he is also the head of the technical branch whereby he provides training as well as supervision for subordinate engineers.
Joshua enjoys architectural home design the most, to date, he has designed more than 250 houses; ranging from standard homes to high end properties. Joshua’s ultimate goal is to bring Cephas Rock to a multidiscipline and multinational firm. His philosophy is to adopt a system for his company management and his engineer work. He believes that using the right professional people on the right job is the key to achieve best results; hence he does not hestiate to engage external consultants on IT, accounting, software and other professional engineer, he is not a fan of D.I.Y. He believes that only top professional person can produce top quality work.
Huey Sin Lim

Position: Director/Financial Controller
Huey Sin is the Co- founder of Cephas Rock Limited. She has worked in the banking industry for five years prior to her involvement in the firm; at that time she was Financial Executive and always strove to be the best at her job.
Even though she now spends most of her time with her young family, she is still making a great contribution in Cephas Rock in her role as a director, by assisting in making important decisions particularly in regards to the company’s expansion and quality control.

Born and raised in Auckland, Carmen is enjoying her role in Cephas Rock.
Peter Yu
BE (Hons)
Position: Structural Engineer
Peter brings a broad range of skills and experience to Cephas Rock, from structural design and post-earthquake building assessments to construction monitoring and drafting of structural drawings.
Having graduated from the University of Canterbury and been in the industry post-Christchurch earthquakes, Peter understands the ins and outs of the local circumstances.
Peter wants to continually further his knowledge in the art of structural engineering and enjoys facing new challenges that come with each new project at hand.
Nerooshan Gulendrarajah
BSc.Eng (Civil)
Position: Structural Engineer
Nero migrated from Singapore in 2016 with his family and start his job with Cephas Rock in 2016.
He completed a BSc Eng (Sri Lanka) in 2006.
His ten years’ work experience to date includes steel structure building design, reinforced concrete design, building strengthening design and building alteration design.
Nero has enjoyed working in structural design and post-earthquake building assessments to construction monitoring and drafting of structural drawings with the Cephas Rock Team.
Sam Lun
BEngTech (Civil)
Position: Structural Engineer
Born and raised in Wellington, Sam moved to Christchurch in 2011, and loves helping rebuild the city.
Outside work, Sam enjoys spending time outdoors, and time with friends.
Sam enjoys all the challenges the job brings, and learning from the other engineers at Cephas Rock; continually adding to his knowledge gained at CPIT where he completed his BEngTech (Civil).
